Help with Aloe Vera please!

Hi,

My Sister gave me 2 Aloe Vera plants yesterday, her mother plant has been in her kitchen for about 2 years.

It didn't get much light and she more than likely over watered it. But somehow it's grown really well.

It produced MANY pups, so she decided to finally repot it and gave me 2 of them.

The one's she's given me have been growing in there for a few months but I don't know if they're going to grow well in the pots I've got, they look really sad.

I've put them in Indirect light and had to put mew soil in them because the soil my sister gave them to me in was sogging wet, now it's just moist.

Judging by the pictures, do you think they will grow or do you think they've had it?

Thankyou for any replies in advance

M

Well they don't look real happy. Did you plant them in cactus soil, mixed with good potting soil? I would try the red clay type pots. Don't overwater. That will kill them everytime.------------I almost think I would be inclined to re-pot them in the proper soil and pot. Then don't water for awhile. Don't keep in direct sun either. Good Luck with them.

Thanks for the replies. They're in Multi-purpose compost/soil.

I always use that and they've been fine before.

I changed the sopping water for the compost straight out of the bag and haven't watered them.

I've snapped off the leaves that are bent, waiting for them to callous over and going to try to plant them to see if they will grow.

I think I'll just buy an Aloe Vera from the local Garden Centre and get pups that way

thanks

I think you really need a good cactus mix soil, mixed with good potting soil. Your Compost sounds great, but too rich for the aloe. Good Luck.
