Hi
I have 2 pics here of the same aloe. I've had it for about 5 yrs. It's now about 10 in diameter. Very healthy.
Something odd is happening to 3 leaves and may happen to the others. Because of camera quality and how tiny the spines , what's going on with this one leaf ( as well as the other 2) can't be seen clearly so I'll just describe what's going on.
These 3 leaves seem to have spines starting to emerge right on the inner face of the leaves in the center starting about 1 inch from the tip.. There's spines on the edges. Always were there. It's the spines that are now growing in the center which I'm asking about. Has this happened to other people or have you ever seen it before? I've had similar aloes in the past and I've never seen such a thing. I'm just curious about what's going on. Very strange
Thanks
Dave

the spines on my "aloe" are very random. Depending on the age of the actual leaf, spines may emerge in random places.. honestly, there seems to be no pattern in where mine emerge. the newer the leaf, the more off center and random they emerge.
this is an observation, and not a fact or any kind of real indication of normalcy. just a general "what the heck" in agreement!
