Transplanting questions

I just transplanted a few succulents of mine and I was wondering if succulents can safely be cut back? I don't even know what they are, they are long tubular type plants. I just wondered if I should cut them shorter after breaking them out of an old root bound pot. Also, is it safe to water right after transplanting, or would that not be good for them?

I don't think I would cut them back, after transplanting. That's quite a shock to them as it is. I would dip the root ball in water, let it get it's fill. Then plant it in the proper soil and leave them alone for awhile. BUT it really does depend on what kind of succulents they are. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come on. :)

Hi,
I've been breaking apart and transplanting all different kinds of succulents and knocking off "pups" off my cactus. I always give them water to get them established and they seem to like it - not overwatered mind you, but some regular water. 8) :D
