Okay, not sure to add a picture.....
Its one long stick up to the top of the plant with green leaves and roots sprouting off the top....
Also if anyone can tell me how to care for it that would be great. Thanks
Detailed instructions for how to post pictures here are in the introductory New to Helpful Gardener section at the top of the index page, under Helpful Tips and Suggestions for New Members, along with some other good stuff!
I'm sorry to say that I cannot ID your plant from that picture. Let's try this; use the Google images feature and enter 'Schefflera' and tell us if that resembles your plant.
to thicken it in the quickest time. remove it from the small bonsai pot it's currently in. You should research what the best time to do this will be since I don't grown Schefs. use the search function in the forum. I've seen great threads on them.
Get bigger? Not likely the way it is. As I said, it's not a bonsai, it's just a sprig that has been left to grow, most likely without enough light or humidity. The only thing you could really do to get it on the road to bonsai it provide light, humidity, and a much larger pot. I'd go ahead and chop it to within a few inches of the soil on repot as well. Leaving it the way it is is begging for a nasty reverse taper to form.
I would suggest that you verify the ID before you take any drastic action. Although we all feel that it resembles a Schefflera I would feel more comfortable with additional pictures. Can you take a few more showing the detail of the leaves and the trunk? I would hate for you to make a bad decision based on that one picture that lacks any real detail.
