Is it Normal for Bonsai Root to Hang Out Bottom of Pot?
So I recently picked up a zelkova bonsai tree from my store and noticed a root hanging out the bottom of the pot. Is this normal, does it need repotting?

Roots pushing out the bottom usually means it need to be repotted. If that is not the case, let the pot sit up a bit above whatever container you use to catch water. This root will die off and then you can cut it off. If you cut it while it is still alive, you run the risk of an open wound which could lead to other problems.
