Used Gerbil shavings?

I was trying to find info on whether I can use the old shavings from my gerbils' cages in my compost bin. Any ideas? Also, can they chew up stuff like paper towels and the like? I know they do a great job on the inside rolls of paper towels and tp=great compost!

Thanks! :D

Too bad we can't put half a dozen hamsters in our compost pile. I did know a little girl who planted a garden for her little rodent pet. She took him out several times a day to graze.

That was one lucky rodent! Cool, I feel better with every little thing I can reuse at my house instead of it going in the trash :D
