My Compost Sifter

Hi, this might be my first post, I love this forum, but I don't think I've ever posted.

I just finished my latest version of my dirt / compost sifter and thought I'd share. I've learnt so much from everyone else, I figured it was time to contribute as well. And as well, I'm looking for any suggestions for the next version.

Very nice.

The only recommendation would be a spring loaded idler on the floppy drum belt. It could be easily affixed to the side of the 2x and pulled down by a spring.

After drawing this design, I changed it already. Use a eyebolt for the sheave axle and attach the spring to it.

You have created a machine that is beautiful, elegant, efficient, and gives you a lovely, fine sifted product.

On the other hand, all I do is pull some of the bigger sticks and stuff out of my compost and use as is. There's no real reason why you need to sift it.

But the carrots enjoy sifted compost! So does the lawn as a topdressing.
