Adding compost to bed with growing plants

Hi,

I know adding compost to soil is pretty easy. But when there is already plants all over the place how do you get the compost down into the soil without disturbing the plants?

Agree, you can just spread it around as a top dressing/ mulch and the rain and the earthworms and the plant roots will take it from there.

Another choice is to turn it in to compost tea (or compost infusion, if you don't want to deal with pumps and aerating) and just pour it on the soil.

PR, side dressing with compost is fairly safe. Composts inherently low numbers (of soluble chemicals) makes this a preffered way for me to add fertilizers in mid-season.
