Compost tea in a rain barrel?

I am buying a rain barrel and wondered if it would be a good idea to put some compost in a burlap bag and let it steep - anyone try this?

The important thing is to have some aeration, unless you're going to use the tea within say 24 hrs. Otherwise it will get pretty rank in a couple days. Other than that, it should work fine.
