Raw Seaweed??

I use a lot of Raw fresh seaweed and always rinse it and toss it and rinse it and dry it before it goes on the heap or gets used as a thick top dressing.

Is there a way to tell if I am removing enough salt and how much sodium is in the plant and how much is just on it? They use a ton of roadsalt here and I get salt mist blowing off the water all the time so can the plants become accustomed to it. I can't "notice" any ill effects to seaweed but there must be a point where to much of a good thing is not.. :) :?

I'm thinking salinitymeter for salt water aquarium water might be useful -- I'm picturing just floating the sample amount of seaweed in water, but maybe mixing into a slurry with an old blender is nec? Hope someone can confirm or deny.

Genius applestar!! just pure genius.!! :D

I don't how the salinity meter works but it must just be a probe or strip of some sort.

I guess establishing a baseline would be the critical aspect... How much is to much ect... TY

Makes Me wanna get a few more fish totes of the weed.... Rock ON!! :)
