Milk?

(Search wasn't helpful.)

Can I put milk in my compost pile? Does it help any?

I had to throw out a gallon of spoiled milk last night, and was wondering if it might do more good in the compost than down the drain.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

I think you can put it , but in moderation. once or twice I sprinkled a cup or two of spoiled milk in the pile . But I did it just before I turned it so there wasn't any problem with smell. as for helping the pile it'll help it with trace minerals, heating up and the growth of lactobacillus .

Yup, definitely put it in the compost.
