Pine straw in Compost

Mixed with my leaves I have a bunch of pine straw ---
I had heard that pine straw should only minimally be used in compost.
I looked on the web and I got conflicting information --
I searched the forum -- and I didn't find anything.

Is it ok? Should I only add a little? Does it matter?

Thank you,

Silvia

Silvia,

I'm no expert, but here is a link to the thread on the pine needles Hope this answers your questions.

the only problem I found was they compost slow......but if you keep turning and adding food scraps to the pile they will break down given about 4 months or so.....

..

Add no more than ten percent at a time and it's a non-issue.
