Vinegar?

Just wanted to check with the experts :D Can I put vinegar soaked paper towel into the compost?

I'd just feel allot better the few times I do have to use paper towel :).

I would say sure... Vinegar directly on your plants is not good, but the amount the vinegar in your paper towel would acidify your whole compost pile is negligible.

..
We've been using spent vinegar-water for cleaning to kill weeds in the sidewalk with limited success.

I'd add it to the compost if I could easily dilute it.

I generally follow the 10 percent rule. I won't add more than 10 percent of anything that might be problematic like eucalyptus leaves.

I once went slap happy with coffee grounds with about 50 percent in one bin and dealt with a dark gooey mess for months before recovering that batch.
