Temperatures tolerated for worm bins?

I am interested in starting a worm bin but am concerned about the temperature swings of my climate. I am still getting over the yucky factor (even though there are maggots in my compost bin... another post) but I would really prefer to set up the worm bin in the yard.

I live in Livermore which gets up to 100F during some summer days and can get down to the upper 20's on winter nights.

Does anyone have a similar climate that they keep their worm bins in? I would contemplate having them in the garage but the temperature insulation isn't all that great.

I believe the optimum temp range for these guys is 50F-80F. I am pretty sure my garage swings outside these ranges, especially in the summer.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Tania
