Memorial Day TY
To all vets out there who've served their respective countries--thank you.
And from me, too. (Brother, father, both grandfathers, one great-grandfather, and at least one GGGF in the military of either this country or Great Britain.)
Please let me mention the Quilts of Valor project (www.qovf.org), whose mission is to get a quilt into the hands of EVERY service member injured in Iraq or Afghanistan. You have earned this quilt, and we will do our best to get you one. We have delivered 15,000 quilts so far.
Regardless of one's personal politics, please remember that it is these veterans' service which helps keep us free to decide (among many other things) whether and how to grow produce, eat it, keep it, sell it to willing buyers, or just put it back in the compost bin.
And...the military is NOT the government. The military deserves *better* from our government.

MEMORIAL DAY REMINDER
It is the VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
