Telephone nuisances

How can I create a campaign by which banners will appear throughout the world's cities, saying "Dan from Amazon: - (fill in the name/co/nuisance of your choice) - why don't you just ( - censored but you get my drift)"

Yeah, the phone spam is out of control. I just don't pick up the phone if I don't recognize it. Soon as you pick up the phone they add your number to a list to avalanche you with more calls, always at the time you picked up, which is almost always when it's inconvenient.

We put our land line answering machine to record at two rings. Almost all robo-calls do not answer and people we know talk enough to let us answer. Those who do not know begin to voice a message and most of the time we can answer. We have gone from 10-15 robos a day down to 2-3. Friends and family babble for a few seconds until we pick up. Only one robo who wants to clear out credit card debt (which there is none anyway) leaves a message. Will that one get the hint...nope but at least we don't get up to answer the phone any more.

Ours (it's a landline) is set to 4. I'll check whether it can be set lower. We have some ongoing medical issues with pending specialist referrals so it's tough to just let it ring out.
@webmaster: Thanks for the info about picking up. I didn't know that.

The way I heard it (not verified) answering machines, like fax machines, respond with some kind of an electronic signal or tone that more sophisticated robocalling software recognizes, rejects and moves on rather than connecting with the next available telemarketer at the phone bank.

It’s not fair when they’re using machines to “screen” for live pick ups, don’t you think?

(This didn’t used to be the case, and when we had fax machines, it variously provided amusement that it blasted human telemarketers, or created new problems when sophisticated robocallers then started sending spam faxes, etc.)

We screen calls too (2 rings) and most legit callers including medical are understanding about it (I do let expected callers know ahead of time)

I don't have a land line, so I guess they are out of luck. I hardly am anywhere near my phone and people rarely call me. My family know I don't answer the phone or text messages. Usually, when I don't answer someone will drive to my house. I get scam calls on my phone too, basically, I either shut the phone off if I am near it and if I don't recognize the phone number, I don't answer it. I probably am still getting robo calls, I don't know about. I am probably getting calls from legit people too, but I don't recognize their phone number, so I guess, they will have to email me instead.

Land line with answering machine to screen the calls does the trick. My cell I do not answer numbers not in my phone, people tend to know when you contact someone you do not know you text first a simple text, never leave a voice mail, I never check my voice mail. I have my phone with me 24/7 you never know when a friend might need you, their car breaks down or something.
