Ham Radio

I hope I'm posting this in the right spot.
Are there any other ham radio operators on this forum? If so I would love to pick your brain.

No but I was a radio repairman in the Army National Guard, and setup and operated some fancy gear as well. I had a codebook that I was not alowwed to die without destroying it first.

You should get your license its a fun hobby. And thank you for your service to our country. I'm trying to figure out if it's more cost-effective to buy a 10-meter radio with ssb or convert a old CB. I'm also wondering if converting an old CB is even worth it in terms of how well it would function

I was into Ham Radio many years ago. Lost interest sold everything. I would like to get into it again but only if it is extremely cheap and easy. I could use a radio that works in areas where there is no cell phone service.
