I was wondering how an armadillo got in your kitchen and climbed up on your fridge as I clicked on this thread

You have your armadillos and we have our nutria. Rather eat nutria thank you very much.
When some of my northern friends come south to visit I sometimes think I need a book of translation phrases for them to follow me in conversation. We do sometimes talk funny down my way.
Edited to expand on that theme:
Makin' groceries= going to the supermarket
Alligator pear= avocado
Neutral ground= median
Stoop sitting=sitting on your front steps
Mispolice=loquat or Japanese Plums
How's ya' mom an em=How is the family doing?
Pass a good time= Having a lot of fun
zinc= kitchen sink
terlet= toilet

I've had baby possums hanging out on my porch before, so from the subject line, I at first thought that the fridge must be on the porch and an armadillo climbed on top if it.
Sometimes when people are talking about their pets, it can sound funny if you can hear them, but don't know they're talking about their pets, and you think they are talking about the husband or kids. Such as: "He tracked in mud and smeared it all over the floor." "He snorted like a pig." "He ate the entire bag of potato chips and while he was at it, he drooled all over the counter."
