This beautiful place you call home is on my bucket list of places to visit. With a little luck, and if the numbers work in my favor,my extensive road trip will begin in a year and a half.

I like it when people love their locations. :)

My adopted town, Chattanooga TN, that I am working on being able to move to just got this:

Chattanooga wins Outside magazine's Best Town title

https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/loca ... le/308038/

I couldn't find out what the criteria were, I think just a popular voting contest...

But it is by Outside magazine and they call Chattanooga "The Scenic City" so that must have something to do with it.

Voted "One of the Best Small Towns in America", we couldn't be happier having moved to Culpeper, VA, over 20 years ago. (And this from two born & bred New Yorkers.)

My sister used to live in Culpeper. She and her husband were a caretaker of a huge ranch just outside of town. Man! that place was pretty.

I may have to visit your town some day.

My town is so small our phonebook is on the back of a matchbook.

Thank you all for sharing your home stories. Tom - LMFAO.

If any of you do decide to visit I am sincere in my offer to help you plan your itinerary. Some really good tourist stuff and lots of "if you don't live here you won't find it" stuff.

My home has a rich history, lots of cultural activities and venues, entertainment ranging from the Symphony, Broadway shows, museums, festivals and street dancing and, of course, amazing food.

As gardeners you will be blown away by the lush natural flora not to mention the unusual fauna. We are 15 - 20 minutes away from the largest swamp in the country. 1 to 1/12 hours from salt water marshes.

Bring your best camera and be prepared to be overwhelmed by the friendliness and warm welcome you will receive.

I would love to introduce you to my family - either a dinner out or maybe a home cooked meal with the gang. We are loud and we tease each other without mercy. There are times when being a little ADD helps you follow our disjointed conversations.

A couple of great tours are Vermilion Ville - a recreation of a traditional Acadian Village and a Swamp Tour of Lake Martin. The Lake Martin tours are flat bottom boats with very knowledgeable guides. I have contacts for very good guides. I do not like, nor do I recommend the air boat tours. They move too fast and are much too loud. You miss too much.

Please visit.
