Ordered a backhoe today, cool yard tool.

I have lots of stumps and plants to dig, and tons of other work that I need a backhoe for, so I decided to just go ahead and spend way to much money and get a good one. They come in two kinds, 3 point mounts and frame mounts, the frame mounts are more expensive, but way stronger. This is a photo of the one I ordered, I am getting it with a 16" bucket and a thumb so I can grab things like logs and rocks.
I did not realize just how many tools I would wind up getting when I moved here about 10 years ago, I am thinking I may be tool crazy. I know many of you are also tool crazy and will like seeing this. 8)

New toy! :D

Now will this create opportunity to do something new you hadn't considered doing before because you didn't have one? 8)

They took my tractor in yesterday, and I should have it back this week end in time for my birthday.
You are right, I most likely will find new things to do with it, for one I will be able to dig up some plants and move them, it will be good for digging holes to plant larger plants in as well. I will dig a foundation for a new tractor barn. I am cleaning up some areas and thinning the trees there, so the area is full of stumps and I need to dig them out. In two areas I may even plant some lawn in when the stumps are gone. With the thumb I will be able to pick up things and move them, I need to stack some logs. My wife said I could put in a water feature or a pool; I do not think I want to take care of a pool. I have some places that I want to put roads in and I will need to side hill them in, so this will work when the front loader will not.

What do you mow and till with then, I am told it takes 5 min to change so this should be no issue.

I've heard brags closer to 45min for taking off the backhoe. I don't mow or till much. I have a Jari Jr for mowing, small tractors and a tiller. I bought the 254 for the backhoe.

I got a lesson yesterday from the dealer, it comes off fast as it has a quick change hitch;but you then have to put all the 3 point arms back on. This is what will take time.
