2 foot orange snake ! What kind is it!

In my cold frame area I just about tramped on a 2 foot snake sunday! It was very fast moving and looked orange and fuzzy almost like a giant centepeed! Does anyone know what it could be and is it dangerous!

Possibly a Northern Red-bellied Snake. They get up to around a foot and a half here in Pa. It's a friend and good garden companion. Harmless to man.

Possible it was shedding old skin which gave it a fuzzy look.

Might have been a corn snake also and if it was fuzzy it was shedding. Copper heads can be very orange also but they have a very large wedge shaped head. Copper heads are snakes you want to tread lightly on their bite doesn't mess around!

Most snakes will slither away given a chance. Copperheads being the most notable north american exception.

It is alas somewhat venomous. tread carefully around him.

If it looked like this you need to stay away from it and have it removed to someplace it can be safe and away from folks.

But if it looks like this leave it alone it will help your garden.

it was a solid orange no stripes. very fast moving and seemed to move like a centipede. it was straight out no wiggle as if it was crawling on tiny legs.
