Is bad odor air pollution?

One of the neighbors started some kind of a DIY project.
They seem to work on it at night, when temperature cools to mid-60's and I want to open my windows.

It's a very sharp citrus oil smell.... Some kind of natural paint thinner, stripper, or degreaser maybe?
It smells so horrible and I can taste it on my tongue. Blecch!

Isn't this air pollution? If I can smell it here, how can they bear it, and it can't be good for their health!

I have my windows shut tight for the 2nd night in a row.

I think it is and there is probably a place you can report it if you want to, to have the city look in to it. Here is mine:

To contact the Hamilton County Department of Environmental Services

Air Quality 24 Hour Hotline call: 1-513-946-7777 or 1-800-889-0474

Prior to doing that, maybe you could just talk to the neighbor and ask him what he is doing and what the chemicals are, let him know that it is bothering you...

Caution.

AppleStar, do a little research on meth labs.

I don't think that is the smell of a meth lab, but what do I know, maybe you need to do as Steve said.
Yes anything can be air pollution but is it reportable?

Our air quality hotline puts out refrigerator magnets that say Report Bad Odors.

Meth labs would smell like ether, acetone, or ammonia, not citrus. Talk to your neighbors, folks! :)

Maybe they are using environmentally friendly cleansers! Our floor cleaner smells citrusy and it's ecofriendly!

That's a good idea. Try talking to the neighbour and ask what the smell is from, as well as how long it will last. It might be part of some activity they will only do for a few days and then be over.

applestar, if it can't be resolved that way, you should contact your local authority to report it and ask if there is anything that they can do about it.
