Candles

For unknown reasons, got a wild hair to mess with candle making, especially beeswax. Well, several trips to Michaels, using coupons and sales have the basic equipment and paraffin to mess with, also a bit of beeswax. Of course this is Dec-Jan with holiday stuff, and not out seeing local farmers who may have (or leads) for beeswax.

I am messing with votive candles and small glass jars. I saw I was using the wrong wick for the beeswax (fine for paraffin) and did order suitable wicks plus more wax.

Are there any candle makers here? Looking for info to share.

Good string isn't easy to find, hadn't thought of Michaels, there's one in Carson City.

Not a candle maker, but I have made candles. Just tall, going from about 3/4" tapering to a point, about 10" long. Last time I made them, I too had trouble with the string, it looked good enough. It also was bees wax, rendered from the chapel.
