Last Sunday I co-hosted an art show for my 23 year old niece. She was born with Cerebral Palsy. She is confined to a wheel chair. She can not feed herself. Regardless of her limitations she finds an outlet to express herself in art. She decided that she wanted to be a recognized artist and a business woman. Friends and family sponsored a showing of her art. Our expectations on the turn out were low. We were shocked. There were 40+ guest. The unanimous comment from the guest was that they planned to make some small purchase to support Kathryn. When they saw her work they were bowled over. There were a couple of pieces that we auctioned because several people wanted the same piece. By the end of the evening 90% of Kathryn's work had sold. She is "over the moon" excited. She is now an official artist and a business woman. In addition to selling her art she received several commissions for custom work. My brother is in the process of creating a home page for her to show and sell her art.

Roger - when her home page is ready may I post it or is that against the rules? Please PM a reply. Thank you.

Wow, how inspirational and cool!

What type of art does she create? Do you have any photographs of her work? :-()

Unfortunately I do not have photos. This was a learning experience. Things we learned - must have a guest book. Keep track of who bought what at what price. Photos of all work with prices. Contact information for all guest. Notes on who wants commissioned work. A serious learning experience. We will do better next time.

Truly amazed. Kathryn is severely disabled but she has been blessed with a gift. Her gift is amazing. She is a serious artist. Waiting for more of her work. Web site will be available soon.

Thanks for the interest.
