Thunder storm rained all over everything.

So on Saturday the boyfriend set out with clear skies in 80 degree weather to see a movie (it wasn't very good) and we walked out of the theater to a huge thunder storm. We could see lightning very close by, thunder just a heartbeat behind. This all seemed cool until we drove into downtown and hit a wall of water and hail so thick we couldn't see the road anymore. Everyone was driving at a snail's pace. We have had any rain at all since June, and so much water was coming down that the streets immediately flooded.

It didn't occur to me until we walked in the door that I'd left my plants at the edge of the patio so they'd get some overhead sun, which left them exposed to the full force of the storm. This is frustrating, since I've been battling PM on my squash to very little avail, and now they were thoroughly soaked and, although it hasn't rained again, it has been muggy and overcast ever since. : ( That probably seems like a silly complaint since most people don't keep their plants covered, anyway.

I recorded some of it, but the storm was lessening a bit by then: https://youtu.be/pEITAQp3KxY

I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully some of the plants will pull through. After all, they should be able to handle some rain.

The weather has been unusually wet and humid this summer. We are having storm systems forming and passing to the south of Hawaii every week it seems. While I am glad they are not hurricanes, they still bring the muggy weather, overcast days, and rain.

I seem to remember last year the summer was pretty mild, but it's been very hot and dry this year. A lot of the state is actually struggling with fires. https://www.nwccweb.us/information/firemap.aspx https://www.kgw.com/news/Douglas-Complex ... 46751.html

I just wasn't prepared, I guess.
