I had to put a fence around my garden. My old dog used to raid the garden :)

*giggle* Glad you like it! :D it was actually the first one I took when I noticed that he wouldn't let go of it. Laughed my butt off when he started eating it.

The year that my cat ate the wrapping paper off of half the Christmas presents under the tree, 3 days before Christmas... I gave up on guessing what a cat will or won't eat!

Cats have strange cravings. One of my cats waited by the door everyday for my husband to come home from work so he would carry her outside to chew on the bamboo. She also liked to chew holes in the plastic from a loaf of bread so we always had to keep the bread in the microwave oven and she would chew cardboard when she was bored.

Wow everyone's cat seem to eat all kinds of things!
My cat only seems to crave greens though. I actually have problems finding him cat food because he reacts badly to so many brands. But for the love of me he can eat mostly anything else without any problems.

Royiah,

When I read the ingredients on cat food it makes my ill. Cats and dogs are carnivores not omnivores. Processed foods are full of grains and vegetables. Not a natural diet for cats or dogs. Both cats and dogs will eat grass or other greens to aid with digestion but as a dietary mainstay.

We are long time humble human servants to cats. We currently have Sallie Sue, 20 months old. Abandoned at 2 weeks old by feral mom. Bottle fed every 4 hours 24/7 for 5 weeks. Daisy Faye, 16 months old, adopted from a farm cat at 4 weeks old, bottle fed for 2 weeks. We adore our girls and make their food.

Our vet hails them as the healthiest cats in his practice.

This is a recipe for 3 lbs. We make 12 lbs at a time. We have an electric meat grinder and grind the meat with a fine cutting blade.

3 lbs raw chicken thighs - ground - skin, bones and meat
4 oz raw chicken livers
2 eggs - use yolks raw but lightly cook whites (I put them in a measuring cup with water and microwave for minute) Run through the grinder with the meat.
1 cup water or more
5,000 mg fish oil
400 IU (268 mg) Vitamin E - powdered in capsules for ease of use. Remove powder from capsules
50 mg Vitamin B-Complex - powdered in capsules
2,000 mg Taurine - powdered in capsules
3/4 tsp Morton Lite Salt with Iodine

Grind the meats and mix well with other ingredients.

I put the raw food in mini loaf pans and muffin tins. Freeze then put into zip lock and keep frozen. Easy to remove and defrost in the frig.

Our last 3 cats were 18, 19 and 22 years old. Great diet for long living, healthy cats.

ElizabethB,

I was all sparkly eyed and ready to go buying meats and stuff until I came to this part of the recipe;

400 IU (268 mg) Vitamin E - powdered in capsules for ease of use. Remove powder from capsules
50 mg Vitamin B-Complex - powdered in capsules
2,000 mg Taurine - powdered in capsules
3/4 tsp Morton Lite Salt with Iodine

I keep seeing capsules and thinking vitamin pills. (None of which I would feed to anything let alone my cats.)
Most people don't realize that these pills are not good for you and a lot of the time can contain harmful things for people and animals. *Shivers* Don't like them one bit. Mind you this comes from someone who had said bad reaction to a Vitamin pill It wasn't pretty and very painful.

Anyways I'd rather not go there with those things. Thanks for trying to help though! :D Do you have any recipe's with out those things?
