How to Post YouTube Videos

When making a post you will notice there is a new button labeled youtube. You can that in the same way as the IMG or URL buttons.

1. Post the URL of the YouTube video you'd like to display

2. Then highlight the URL and click the "youtube" button. It should now look like this:

3. And will display like this:

It works now, applestar fixed the bug. The bug was that the "Disable BBCode" box was set to be checked by default. There's no reason for that so I just fixed that in your profile. If that box is checked by default for anyone else, which it shouldn't be, you can fix that in your Profile, just click the link labeled "Profile" at the top of the page, then click Board Preferences, then click "Edit posting defaults."

That's easy peasy. If you have a hard time following those directions contact me directly and I can fix it for you.

The new "youtube" bbcode won't work with the shortened version of the YouTube URL, Youtu.be

So a shortened YouTube URL like this:

should be changed to its longer version like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=/XyZhIJK

This should not be an issue if you're grabbing the youtube video URL straight from the browser URL address at the YouTube site.

IF members need it... I can probably make a different code for wrapping Youtu.be shortened URLs.

I tried to post a video that I did and it played it one time and then went to a screen showing a bunch of some what related videos.

Note that I removed the m. from the beginning of the URL (did you get that from viewing it in an iPad?) and added WWW to the URL:

It did the same thing, played once and then put some videos Youtube thinks I may like. What is bad is the image of a woman, I do not know why she is suggested,I do some times watch funny videos.
Now that I reposted that and came back it goes to the video I tried to post, Youtube what is with you?

Ok, then YouTube is showing you am Apple specific version of its site. Does the video play for you on this site when viewed with our iPad?

The videos are supposed to play once, not loop over and over. Your video is only 35 seconds long.

The suggested video is being suggested because it's about head cams. The image of a woman is there to induce people to click, it's not what the actual video is about.

FIXED!

I tweaked the code so that YouTube doesn't suggest any more videos at the end of playback. How cool is that?

There is a much longer video similar to the one I posted. It does have a bikini clad woman that appears before you hit play. She does not appear in the video. You're correct Roger. I would enjoy looking at the bikini clad woman but I'm just too old and tired to look for it.

I like woman as I am normal, I just do not think this is the right spot to post such things, I am happy you fixed it.
