I admit that I am a nature lover. I love watching animals, growing plants, collecting and identifying stones all kinds of things like that. This year for Mother's Day I made my mom a bird nesting material basket, and she loves it. You fill a suet feeder basket with scraps of yarn, thread and strips of fabric, and you hang it where the birds can see it. I'm always making something knitted or crocheted so I just saved the scraps from the ends and used them. My mom is loving watching the scrub jays come and snag yarn from her basket. Just in case any of you would like to do the same here is a link to the site where I found the idea! :D

When my wife cuts my hair we leave the hair on the deck. The hair disappears in minutes. There are little bird nests with white Charlie hair all over the place.

I saved my dogs hair and also a plastic mesh onion bag. I had forgotten about that so I need to get it out for the birds.

They like to steal the shredded paper I add to the compost pile...

Oh yeah, the little buggars like to steal anything that is remotely strip like. Someone else told me to put my dog's hair in the basket, but my dog is a greyhound and he doesn't really shed much. Even when I brush him I don't get much loose hair. My mother's dog, Otis, that animal must be part wooly mammoth! You brush him once and end up with a wad of fur the size of a Datsun, LOL! I'll tell her she can put Otis' fur in the basket. That'll make her happy, LOL
