Used to be that weather men didn't have such great tools as they have today. They had to develop an instinct, which seems to me, to have worked much better for them than is the case with the forecasters of today. These current day forecasters are so infatuated with their doppler radar that they can't seem to see much beyond the moment. How many times do they look at the doppler and say, [its raining like crazy outside.] Heck, I can look outside and see what it is doing right now! Last night, with no particularly unsettled weather, the low was forecast to be 49 degrees. Great, I'll leave my tender plants outside and uncovered. I get up this morning, and the thermometer is sitting on 37 degrees. Mid morning most of the tomato plants and the egg plants were drooping so badly, it looked like they may have been permanently damaged or killed. The tomatoes are looking fine now, but the egg plants still have not perked back up.

No more trusting the weather man for another week or two I guess. Not very helpful when their forecast is plus or minus 12 degrees!

Clyde McClain was a weatherman in Charlotte when I was a kid. I think he was on the same station for 30 years. He got self nicknamed "Cloudy" because he liked a letter he go so much that he read it on the air.

'Dear Clyde, I just shoveled 9 inches of partly cloudy off of my side walk. Thank you very much."

We did not get below 42 last nigh Alex. I guess we're a bit warmer in Aiken.

I have a weather rock, looking at it tells me what the weather is.

We used to have a weatherman named Dick Farout. Now in south Louisiana snow is a very rare occurance. One year the conditions were just perfect for snow. Dick was on air saying don't get your hopes up we will not be getting any snow. You could hear someone off camera say "Dick - look out og the window" It was snowing. His nick name become No Snow Faurot.

Ther was another weatherman on another channel named Ed Roy. Mom called them Ed Wrong and Dick Don't Know.

Two of our local weather men come up to the ski area that I go to. I have met them both up there, on the chair lift I told one of them about my weather rock. He said that people are always mailing them to him.

They would rather use their toys than stick their heads out of the door. G makes me crazy watching the weather channel and looking at the weather maps on his I Phone. I ignore most of it unless there is a hurricane on the way. Even then I mentally reduce the threat by 30%. Lots of experience. It just KILLS me to see these so called weather people out there in the middle of a cat 4 or 5 storm. WHAT! did your mother not teach you to come in out of the rain? What self serving, egocentric idiots. When Andrew blew through south Louisiana Dan Blather was in the midst of the storm like some kind of idiot. A street sign blew off and clobbered him in the head.

More than once national media has come in to our local stations and completely blown the generator systems. Go home you fools you have no business here. Give me a break. I really have a lot of heart burn with weather people. Chaps my ***.
