Waiting for my son to be born!

So here my wife and I just waiting. We have a scheduled induction tomorrow. We are so excited to meet our little guy! It has been a long time coming! It took 8 years together 5 years of marriage and 3 years of trying and here we are.

I think the waiting is the worst! The doctor said the induction could take 6 hours to 3 days! Ohhh this is the worst!

Anyways thought I'd say something on here so my wife does not know I am so nervouse and worried. I am sure she knows anyways lol.

Hope all goes well and that the birth doesn't move TOO quickly or TOO slowly, but JUST RIGHT (kind of like Goldilocks). :)

I'm sure it's obvious, but...you have names selected for the little guy? Given name, middle name, back-ups if these don't seem to "fit" his personality?

And try to cat-nap if possible. Mom-to-be won't be able to sleep during labor, but if it goes for three days (what?!), Dad will need some sleep....

I can't believe it! I slept last night fairly well!

We got the call to come in this morning for 730!

We do have his name all picked out! His first name is kind of set but there are a few middle names on the list still :) our front running name is Burke Alexander Veroba-Legaree

I think three days is the worst case. I was reading last night people mostly have their kids in the first 24-36 hours. Here is to hopping the little guy does not take 72!

Thanks all!! More to follow :)

My first child was product of induction, she was in labor for 36 hours before my son was born, and my 2nd was a C-section. WAY BETTER!!!! No labor!!!

And my wife slept more than me the whole time. they kept offering me something to help me sleep in the hospital, but I refused. This is the time you will completely forget about. It will be over before you know it. then the real work starts!! lol

We are all settled in at the hospital :)

I can believe that the time will slip away on me :)

Let the fun begin!

it only took 8 hrs for my son and 4 hrs for my daughter. and both were born on their due date. I went into labor naturally but he was stubborn, and with my daughter they said she was ready and no point in waiting. had pitocin with my son and prosten gel with my daughter..

Is there a baby yet? :D Best wishes and welcome to the world, Burke Alexander...

33 years ago, I had my baby at home with a midwife. I was in labor a total of 4.5 hrs. Baby was born at 7:30 PM, we all got to celebrate and get used to each other and still go to bed at a reasonable time.

Welcome to the world baby boy :!:

Was your heart over full the first time you held that precious baby?

Congratulations to you both.

I was never able to have children of my own so I had to be a bystander for the births of my nieces and nephews. The look on the faces of new parents was priceless and brought me to tears. I envy you more than I can say. You have participated in the act of creation. How awesome :!:

Congratulations and a very wsrm welcome to baby boy.

Your journey has just begun.

That's the truth . . . I had so much trouble accepting the fact that my 1st baby had complete control over my sleep . . . the 2nd baby, I was older and resigned to the power of their slightest whim . . .

Waiting for pics of you, mom and that wonderful boy. Sorry - at my age I take a pass on new borns except for short periods of time then they go back to mom and dad. Same with the 13 and 10 year old grands. Give them to me for the weekend to spoil and have fun with then back they go to mom and dad. Grandparent's privilege.

Seriously - so happy for you both. Your adventure has just begun.

I got a pic last of my new one, Mackenzie, (Mar14 in Houston). Her Dad (my son) gone on couch, holding sleeping babe. So, catch your nap when he does!

Congratulations, a new gardener just entered the world!
At least wait out 2013 before you have him working in the garden!
He will mostly eat the soil this year!
Next year he will throw it.
The following year, will be somersaults and rolling in it.
Awww well it is still enjoying being out there.

Go easy on the eating it phase!
