If there is a planet X it is suppose to pass over a 6 month period but I doubt it! Facts or fiction is hard to tell apart! It sounds like some of our news from one station to another two different versions!

NASA has already debunked most of this space stuff. But you know, these conspiracy theorists think NASA is in bed with the government and lying to everyone for whatever reason. All these people that think the govt is against them and planning to wipe them out, I simply ask them "what is their motive?" If anything, they need people that is what keeps the economy going that is what capitalism is driven with. But whenever you get into a little debate with these people you quickly find out they are not very bright. But these idiots are still convinced that the govt is planning to wipe out everyone and then have the whole planet to themselves. Like I said earlier, on this other forum some guy is now saying the end of the world is the fiscal cliff. Sometimes I think these people don't even believe their own conspiracies, I think they just like to be fear mongers and make people paranoid. A lot of these people are anti govt and it was only fitting that they would shift this whole end of the world thing to the US govt now since people blame everything on the US govt.

Punkrotten, you‘re so right, what kills me is the way they create make belief science. There are so many people that have such a poor understanding of science that they will belief anything. The problem is ignorance, and most of them are so ignorant that they do not know just how dumb they are. Sorry for not being kinder, but sometimes it is hard to suffer fools.

Jeez Bobberman. THERE IS NO PLANET X!! And the really sad part for you is that fact and fiction are NOT hard to tell apart. I listed some of the criteria earlier.

Fact is evidence based, it fits with the body of knowledge we already have, it is provable and disprovable. Facts are specific, concrete, verifiable, replicable.

Fiction relies on circular reasoning (statements designed to support each other without any outside collaboration), either-or dichotomies (assuming that if one thing is true than another thing must therefore also be true), or relying too much on an authoritative figures -- because some celebrity, preacher, or other person you think is important says it, it must be true. Or as a current commercial says, if it is on the internet, it must be true.

You really should consider taking a critical thinking class!

Bobberman is right. One of the signs the Mayans told of was eagles storing food for the end times. There can be no doubt. Time is short.

Tonight as the clock strikes midnight in Europe and the East Coast, people should post that the lights are flickering, the earth is shaking and there are fires in the distance. Then go mysteriously silent.

Just a random thought that ran through my old mind. Maybe the Mayans just ran out of room on the calendar tablet. If they had had a bigger stone the end of the world may have been much later. HMMM :!: Could be a stone resource issue.

Oh crap :!: Don't diss me for that last comment.

Merry Christmas one and all. Got the mood and the groove.

What's really sick is somewhere there is a guy really disappointed the world didn't end.

Somewhere sitting in their bunker with their M-16s, cans of beans and bottled water bummed everyone in the world except them isn't dead. That's some sick mentality but I bet it's going on somewhere. They were probably hoping to get out of their massive debts.

Some guy was trying to give a time during the day that "supposedly" we are gonna see something. People are so stupid they don't realize that if something was coming from space you'd see it for weeks in the sky before it got here. I can't wait for the day to be over so I can finally tease all these fools I come across that believed in this. Now most doomsday believers are trying to say it was never going to be earthquakes, asteroids or fires, but by politics instead. And of course US govt is the one they are blaming.

Charlie, I absolutely LOVE the Wile E. Coyote images and the "harrumphing" cat!

Could have done with some of that Fire from heaven today; it's wet, drizzly, and cold here in the "beautiful" San Francisco Bay Area. And the heat in my house doesn't reach my downstairs work abode, where I've been a LOT of the past many hours. A crisis from 11:00 p.m. last night until 1:15 a.m. this morning, at the computer again to follow up on the crisis at 7:30 a.m. Finished work approx. 4:45 p.m. All of it miserably cold.

Get this: I'm wearing an undershirt (long-sleeved camisole). A turtleneck. A knitted vest. A sweatshirt. And a crocheted shawl wrapped around my neck. A crocheted/knitted (yeah, both skills) hat. Two pairs of socks--one short, one long. Slacks. (And, since some of you will wonder: yes, bra and undies. ) Closed-toe, tie-up shoes to keep in what small fraction of body heat the socks manage to trap.

And my hands are like blocks of ice. My toes are cold. The dogs, lying on the for-god's-sake floor, look comfy as all get-out. The cats are curled up on the bed, the upholstered chair, the whatever that's cozy.

But NO Fire from the sky. Nope. Just cold, wet rain. Like any...

WINTER SOLSTICE!!! The days will slowly begin to grow longer now. :)

Happy Solstice everyone! I take it we all survived! :) A couple friends and I had champagne toasts at midnight to celebrate surviving in to the beginning of a new cycle (while watching on TV the movie 2012 about the world ending).
