D'ABRUZZIO Classico spaghetti sauce jars

IDK if anyone else noticed, but the classico jars are mason jars. I used to spend the little bit extra on this spaghetti sauce just because I could save the jar and reuse it for canning. But they recently changed the jars so that the mouth is about 1/2" too small for canning rings and lids. Too bad, it was a nice little bonus for buying their sauce.

Yeah I can't wait to make my own mayo! I have been waiting since we got those chickens. Just gotta get a few more of the girls to start laying so the eggs stay ahead of the egg eaters! :)

I wonder if there's some kind of liability issue with people reusing the jars. I wouldn't think so, but why would you go through the trouble of changing it? I see the plastic switch, plastic is cheaper. But a smaller mouth and still in a glass jar? Weird.
