Logging just up the road, photos.

They are logging just down the road from me, I do not see the mess from the road but it opens up a view. I walked down to the site yesterday and took some photos.

Cool photos. Looks like a good place for the Discovery channel to film an episode of American Loggers.

Where is this in Oregon? Is this an area where the trees have been planted by the logging company for harvest or is it old growth? I grew up in south central Oregon and in northwest Oregon. In southern Oregon I lived in a logging town and my friends' fathers were loggers.

They were planted by the logging company. It is East of Portland, near Mt. Hood in the town of Eagle Creek.

Logging shows are interesting. I was lucky enough to watch a ballon logging operation once down in southern Oregon. I've always wanted to see a horse-logging setup, but haven't so far. :)

Wow what beautiful scenery you have but those poor trees... Do they plant them for sustainability?

Yes they will plant new trees They can not cut the rest of the trees until the new ones get so old, this is to keep the forest and wild life healthy.
