. . . James, going to jail?
Amid news that there was new email evidence of a cover-up, there was a brief rumor that he had been arrested over the weekend. That was apparently untrue.
This isn't the story on the cover-up. This is the most recent news on the phone hacking. I nearly wrote "the British phone hacking" but look about half way down the story for these words:
"It had been thought until today that the earliest phone hacking by Mulcaire occurred in 2002. The new date is potentially significant because it falls before the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
It has been alleged that News International instructed private investigators in the US to target relatives of the victims of the 9/11 attacks, although no proof has so far emerged that this took place."

This has been far below the radar for most Americans but keep in mind that the Murdoch family not only control and own much of Fox TV but now also own The Wall Street Journal. Corporate headquarters is based in the US not the UK.

I guess this subject is included in that "political" concern that has been expressed. It seemed as tho' phone-hacking by the press would be something in the public interest. I am unaware of any additional policy that would need to be taken up by our politicians.
Mention of most any newspaper, small or large - national or local, might have generated the same reaction as a mention of Fox TV, I suppose. At least it might with some folks.
Perhaps it may be best if the payment of $5 million to just one victim's family should be the end of it.

I don't see it as politics; I see it as humor from Europe and here's some more....really crazy stuff.Francis Barnswallow wrote:I'm staying away from politics when it comes to this site.
