I believe both tater and mater to be in play as colloquialisms indigenous to a goodly portion of the population. The fact that my particular region is not part of that portion should not influence the issue as I think of it simply as speaking another dialect of the English language...

Seen?

I think we are decending into some very vague generalities about farmers and children that may not be entirely based on fact...like...

Policeman eat only new yogurt...

It's simply not factual. But some generalities at least fit general streotype, so there is some truth...

Politeness evades ornery New Yorkers....

perpetuates the stereotype, but I did specify ornery New Yorkers, a subset of New Yorkers, so I feel this might be acceptable, but in the interest of presenting the best post I can...

People emote on New Year

Yes they do. And politically correct, too.

Let's be careful out there, people... :|

Perhaps estimates sound too sad...

Actually, things are looking up for all our fisheagles around here, including our national symbol. I once had to really hunt around for bald eagles while kayaking along the Lower Connecticut, and I see them almost every time now. Lots of osprey too. Much different from when I was a boy...

Yes, you all are starting to repeat yourselves (or me). That's why you need to give it up come spring. I know you're all addicted (heh, heh, heh, I just LOVE starting something...), but do try to wean yourselves--it's for your own good.

HG--I wasn't even thinking Fantasia! More like DTWS. Have you seen the video where they're all lip-synching to some song? Good for a few chuckles.
