fuddy - fogey

There is no escape from getting olde, except the obvious one. I prefer to think of it as a measure of success. How do we not turn into fuddy-duddies and old fogies?

I decided it would be helpful to define the terms. (LINK) & (LINK)

Now that I've read one etymologist's ideas on the concept, I'm not too sure. He may, himself be a little hidebound in his thinking ... I did note that an early reference to fuddy was to a garden scarecrow, certainly ineffective if inactive.

interesting. My take on this is a Henry Ford quote:

Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.

I learn new things all the time and in 100 years I may even be smart.
One of the best preventive measures of Alzheimer decease is to keep an active learning brain.
