The Police just keep getting dumber and more out of control. They can do or claim anything they want.
What is the world coming to? Naturally a farm has weeds, blackberries, okra, tall plants and grass.
Neighbors are more concerned with their own self importance than the rights of others.

This happened to me many years ago when I was just in my early 20's and getting into making my own garden at the first house I ever owned. I was getting out my car late one night when I arrived back at my house from a visit to the country to see some free spirited friends that lived in the country on a communal type setting. A blue and white pulled up real quick behind me and another swings the corner and comes up to the front of my vehicle.
They get out demanding ID, asking me what I was doing this time of night, where I was heading, where I was coming from, etc. And here they have my license, registration, insurance papers, all with my address on them and I'm smack dab in front of my house.
Then they ask to search my VW bug I was driving at the time. I gave them the OK since I knew I was clean. One of the cops goes in a bag on the back seat and takes out a small bag of seeds and you'd have thought he personally caught John Dillinger. He found a small envelope of okra seeds my friends had given me to plant in my garden. I told him what they were, but he wasn't having any of it. It took one of the other cops to recognize they were not marijuana seeds and they "let me go" like they were doing me a favor. Not so much as a "Sorry man, we were wrong." It was more like "You got away this time, but we're watching you."
Ah, our tax dollars at work fighting the war on drugs. They ought to spend more on fighting stupidity.

got a friend who's growing kenaf (hibiscus cannabinus) for greens...and guess what its leaves look like...hasn't had problems yet, but you never know. he's outside of town a ways though, where generally the policia are more laid-back and understanding, in my experience.
this is an (illegal) pot-growing region, though, so I hope trouble doesn't come with helicopter season...I've had fields hovered over for 15 minutes at a time in the past, guess they didn't see anything good.
