Annoying Email ~ Unsubscribing

Can someone tell me when I unsubscribe to unwanted email am I just adding my email address to others?

I seem to be getting more and more spam type email. All emails have a unsubscribe link. They try to hide bury them in the text.

If it's genuine spam, then yes, you are letting the spammers know your email address is active, which makes it more attractive as a target for marketing. That's why I block all images in my email unless they're from authorized senders. I don't know about other email services, but Gmail does a good job of filtering spam--I only get spam in my inbox maybe twice a year.

I think Outlook Express has that covered. I get this message with most email

Same boat. I pretty regularly go through and unsubscribe but then I seem to start getting new stuff. The actual volume of junk never seems to decrease. I've started reporting a lot of it as spam rather than unsubscribing...that way gmail just filters future emails from that sender into the spam folder.

You can move it to the junk file and sweep it. Don't open anything when you do not know the sender. I got spammed and the email starting sending mail using my address to my contacts. When it is really bad, the best solution is to change your email, and let your friend know your old address was spammed so they don't have the same problem.

I use malwarebytes and run it often. It detects and eliminates a lot of the malware norton misses.
