That is a very good suggestion. I just added that feature. Go ahead and try it out! :)
Brilliant!

I have also been thinking about either a rule or a suggestion about thread titles. I really dislike threads titled "Question!" or "Tomatoes!" (imagine that, in the Tomato sub-forum!), and I think you do, too, based on your recent fb posting.

Perhaps a 3-4 word minimum would help, although that wouldn't prevent the "Please help me!!!" type of posts. And "Peas help me" was brilliant, despite having only three words.

If PHP had a grammar parser, I suppose you could require 3 words, of which one must be a botanical term and one must be a verb, but that seems a bit complicated :D

Yes, I may have to put that in the welcome email. It's already in the Posting Guidelines and in the Tips for New Members post. Very useful for new members to create a descriptive title as well as to post their question in the correct forum category. :)

Thank you for the new feature. :)

post their question in the correct forum category
Even the Mods don't always get this right. Apple's Tomato fertilizer tweaking should be under the Tomato Forum. Right?

I was seeking organic fertilizer recommendations based on materials I have available... That's why I posted it in Organic Gardening forum. :wink:

Maybe I'm being overly critical. Sometimes I think there are too many choices.

Tomato = Fruit

Should it be in the Fruit forum. I see watermelon and other melons in the Fruit forum. Is the Fruit Forum really Orchard Forum?

When someone is showing of their harvest, should it be in the Organic gardening, Vegetable gardening or What doesn't fit Elsewhere. Is it based on how and not what?

Many topics get thrown into Vegetable Gardening because it is the most active.

Yes, most people are aware that Tomatoes are fruit. But it's a common convention that tomatoes are organized with the vegetables so that's where it's at. If we put it in the fruit section people would miss it so it is where it's at because it makes sense for members. 8)

2) Attachments are limited to 2 MB, which is smaller than the native photo file size of many modern phones. Would it be possible to downsample/resize them on the server after uploading? Right now my workaround is to email the photos to myself, during which time my phone allows me to resize them. But then I have to send the photo on a round trip and then add it to my Camera Roll, then attach it to HG, and then delete it from my camera roll so I don't have a duplicate.

Did you change something here? I was able to attach a photo from my phone in this post, and it's 2,152,822 bytes > 2^21 MiB, but it still refuses some other photos that are in the ~2.5 MB range.

Hey Roger, This is a very nice improvement. Could you also apply this to forum titles.

If we hover over Vegetable Gardening and a drop down window shows the top 4 or 6 active Topics. Maybe it would have to show the top 12 on a busy day?
