I've got a room that's desperately in need of a facelift. After some consideration, I've decided the walls and ceiling are going to be painted as one big mural. It'll be time consuming but not terribly expensive, and I think it'll look great when it's done. The problem is the floor. I'm going to be replacing the carpet in the room, but a solid color or repeating pattern will just break the illusion of being elsewhere. What would be awesome would be to include the floor (it almost
has to be carpeted) in the overall design.
Has anyone tried to "paint" a carpet-mural using dyes? Did it work? What kind of dyes would you suggest? How about application methods?
I'm on a fairly tight budget, so this is all going to be DIY stuff.
Thanks for at least reading this far, and even bigger thanks for tips/suggestions.
