Need advice before filling in large hole

Hello. I removed my above ground pool last fall and want to fill in the hole that was left. I didn't have the time or money to do anything with it before winter, but now I can finish the job. The hole is 24' in diameter. The pool was on a slope, so the hole varies in height from 7-8" down to 2". There is about 1" of sand covering a clay base and there is standing water in the hole for 1-2 days almost every time we get rain. The hole has actually filled up and run off the downhill side a few times with the heavy rains we have had this spring. Our plan is to fill in the hole and plant grass. What do I need to do before I fill in the hole so that I don't have drainage issues?
