Will Weed B Gon with Crabgrass Control work now?

North half of Illinois zone 5a.

I have what appears to be crabgrass. Will Weed B Gon with Crabgrass Control work in late July and thru August? If not, will it keep it from going to seed?

My understanding is that is a preventative not a killer but I could be wrong. Crabgrass will die off after your first frost so maybe its best to wait out this year and work at prevention next year?

Depending on how much you have, there is also just pulling it up....
