I have just mowed and rakes my lawn and these are everywhere........ What are they and do they need treating etc
Any help would be much appreciated

No idea. Looks like some kind of grassy weed. I just thought I would "bump" this since you didn't get a response.
You didn't say where you are located. There are hardly any garden questions that can be discussed without regard to location/ climate / conditions. Your lawn looks pretty dry and brown. Are you in some hot, dry area?
If you are in Calif, Ariz or other drought struck place, you should really think about getting rid of the lawn and looking in to xeriscaping - landscaping with drought tolerant plants.
