Edging my yard with moss?

I know this is going to sound stupid, but does anyone have moss growing next to all of their "edges?" By edges I mean right up against their foundation, against stone edging, etc. The reason I want to do this is because I want to avoid weed wacking altogether. At my father's house, his grass doesn't grow up to an inch away from all his borders, where moss is thriving. I would kill to have that happen in my yard but I'm not sure how to get that started. In the cracks of my patio (sand between pavers), and along the borders of the patio, moss has formed. I would love to replicate this around all of my edges around the house except for my driveway and main walkway. How can I pull this off?

The alkalinity of foundations may mess with moss planted & abutting them. Some kind of edging may be what it takes to get moss nigh-to concrete.
