Yellowish areas in my lawn. with pics

Hello Everyone,

I am in brand new to owning a lawn and having trouble figuring out why some of my grass is much more yellow than other sections.

The yellow grass receives the same amount of water and fertilizer as the green sections.

Marlin might be onto something. If not a disease of some sort it might be soil type and weather. Has it rained there much?. Rain is much better than well water or city water. I have areas that don't do well unless it rains because of the soil type under the grass.

I contacted Scotts who I had servicing my lawn. They said the problem is that I have two different types of grass. The green areas are made up of Bluegrass / Fescue while the yellowish areas are Zoysia. The Zoysia is a warm climate grass and turns yellow as soon as the weather gets a little cold. Which makes sense because the difference is much more pronounce now that the weather is cooler.

I haven't done anything to the lawn myself but maybe the previous homeowner has and that is why the grass is such a mix in that one area like you suggested.
