Need weed ID help

Howdy group - I live in Kansas and have a tall fescue lawn. I've been seeing small patches around the yard of an invasive weed(?). It appears to have 'runners', and spreads fairly quickly.

Here are two photos I took of the same weed invading our mulch beds.

Thoughts on what it is and how to eradicate it? I used Roundup on a large (8'x12') patch last summer, then reseeded it. So far it appears to be successful, but I don't have much faith that it will keep the weeds out. I'm looking for a solution that doesn't require completely killing the weed *and* my lawn.

This looks like crabgrass to me. We use an Ortho crab grass killer to get it out of our lawn. I don't know an organic solution other than digging up the offending grass one by one!

Maybe someone else knows a better organic solution? :)

If you want an organic herbicide, a salt water- vinegar solution is a pretty good one. Easy on the salt though, if you want anything else to grow in that spot anytime soon.

Or you can just pour boiling water on the weeds.

If you don't have a huge lawn though, I think simplest is just to dig all the crab grass out, being sure to plant grass seed immediately in the empty spot.
