Soybean meal and hardwood ash for fertilizer for the lawn
How much do I use of hardwood ash and soybean meal for 1000 square ft lawn ,Any suggestions welcome

There are no standard ratios since the condition of your soil will greatly determine how effective certain additives will be. Wood ash will raise your PH level in large quantities so test your soil's PH before adding any ash and research the recommended level for the type of grass you have.
Always test in a small area lke 100 sq. ft. Add a pound of ash, water it in, let in stabilize for a couple days and test the PH again.
You can always send a soil sample to your local Department of Ag office to get a definitive recommendation of additive amounts but there're usually for lime or sulpher.
If you're just looking for some potassium, consider using rock potash.
