pearl grass attacked

Hi.

I noticed that there are white scales on my pearl grass (not sure if its scale but its white and very tiny rectangular shape and when I rub my fingers on the leaves, it comes out).

I suspect it is sucking the leaves dry and causing brown patch of died grass.

I hope someone can advice me what I should do to resolve the problem.

Thanks.

Pearl scales usually attack in the roots and base of the grass. you will know if you have them if the dead patches happen in circles. You will begin to notice it more when the grass starts to go dormant in the winter. You can always cut around the dead area to the still green parts of the grass and look at the roots. There are very noticable and easily squished. They usually reapir themselves after the winter months because the cold kills them off and the grass repairs itself. I hope this helps!
