Help. What is this flowery weed and how to get rid?

I live in Northern Kentucky.

This is starting to take over our front yard. Looking for advice on how to get rid of.

Those are Johnny Jump-Ups, a type of Viola. Personally, I like them in the lawn, but then again I have a non-monoculture approach to grass (in fact, most of my "lawn" is actually twitch grass and wildflowers).

They are related to wild violets. I think they are so pretty in my lawn. I love when the dandelions and violets bloom together in the lawn (purple and yellow is the color scheme in my front yard anyway!). Can't understand why people are so concerned to get rid of them. But I'm also a non mono-culture type.
