Muddy Mess!

My yard is a muddy mess!! The land used to be a dairy farm,(about 30years ago) With a lake that tried up next to my house. So half of my yard is shaded well, What grass seed would work best? And can I put some down now? And what is the best way to take care of seeds? Don't have a arm and leg to spend. Blue coller worker with 3 younger boys. Thank you for your time. I live in MO so grass should be easy to grow, right?

depening on how big of a area. its real easy to spread and depening on what brand you get it should grow. the shade part may be tricky. they do make a shade mix grass seed for areas that get 4 hours of sun. its not super expensive so you wont lose a arm or a leg!
